The entire right side is more socially conservative supporting hierarchies. Violet justifying these with economical power.

>literal pirates fighting for freedom above all
Not economic freedom, since the protagonists don't pirate for shit and help pretty much every oppressed fuck on their way. Helping others without any profit for yourself doesn't sound too right wing. And the antagonist of almost every arc was someone who took their freedom to oppress others too far, often based on their economic power, which would be perfectly consistent with the world view but made them the bad guy. Tenryuubito as the rich guys with absolute power thanks to their wealth and status are presented as main antagonists as well.

Spice & Wolf is more tricky, I don't recall the protagonists attitudes towards the economics too much outside of using them to their advantage.

There are the desires of the crew but there is also the overall story and messages. And the powerful and rich tend to be the bad guys. Besides, there is a disconnect between the things characters say and do. Take Namis greed, it's never aimed at the weaker, making it more of quirk than real greed. Luffy loved adventure but is willing to make a stop and help anyone, despite saying that he isn't a hero. He also gets mad over shit that doesn't concern him, like antagonists abusing their own people. Wouldn't a true an-cap look the other way and focus on his business and benefit? What about Sanji feeding every fuck for free or Zorro helping random people without any gain at his own risk?

Though most of the other crew members would kinda fit into anarchist box, the overall story focuses too much on compassion and economic oppression of others.

Sure but it's not really encouraged either, the problems of others aren't yours. From a business perspective, helping others without any gains for you is an irrational action.

How is butting into everyones life as the SHs do an-cap? How does the portrayal of every antagonist as a rich and/or powerful guy in support of unregulated capitalism?

That'd be left-wing market anarchism. Left libertarianism isn't against private property or market per se.

An-cap is a political ideology, not a moral framework. "Irrational actions" are perfectly fine in an an-cap society, and, indeed, you should feel free to do whatever it is that you want. The Strawhats want to help these people that they see as friends, so they do, that's all there is to it. Also, there are plenty of wealthy people portrayed as good in OP, too. But these is portrayed as the right choice, all the time, wouldn't a true an-cap outlook at least add some variation? "Nah, fuck these lazy fishmen, they don't deserve our help and should pull themselves by their bootstraps."

>there are plenty of wealthy people portrayed as good in OP, too.
True but they all tend to share some of their wealth with others. It's also true that wealth isn't presented as inherently evil but at the same time, all the characters we're supposed to root for, act unselfish most of the time, even when they are initially presented as self focused. Wouldn't the an-cap message be more about NAP instead of "You're free but fuck you, if you don't help others".

>> No.10088151

>wouldn't a true an-cap outlook at least add some variation?
No, an-cap is not objectivism. It is not a moral framework. There is nothing in anarcho-capitalism that implies or encourages calloussness. I think the problem really is that you've added a whole lot of baggage to an-cap that just isn't supposed to be there. It's a very simple ideology: there should be no governmental restrictions on people's lives and the best economy is a capitalist one. The strawhats adhere to these two beliefs.

Honestly as a lefty this is something I can sympathize with. Of course they do. I think you have not talked with many true an-caps, because their problem is not that they are cold, but that they are too idealistic. They all say that private charity will definitely step in and help the unfortunate in an an-cap society.

Even if we roll with these definitions, the SHs never showed to care about any of that too much. They found the separation between toys and humans interesting and Nami as the only one with economic sense, acts according to her morals instead of any economic model. Plus half of the time they get free shit, while the other half monetary rewards they didn't even ask for.

>>10088164
>because their problem is not that they are cold, but that they are too idealistic.
Some definitely are but generally, the idea to leave something like that to idealism seems kinda ... well, not too thoughtful in "oh, the poor, don't worry, this will work, they'll be fine. Can we go back talking about NAP and how taxation is theft?" way. Communists tend to be too idealistic too but they consider the side of the unfortunate with much more thought. Not doing it seems pretty cold, not in a sociopathic way but just selfish with more focus on their own potential gains. Which is perfectly human of course.

I'm sorry man, but this is bogus. This "Ponzi scheme" talking point is popular among pundits and politicians who just plain want welfare to be defunded. Social security is one of the core components of the modern State, and there's no reason whatsoever the government can't simply finance it like it would any other deficitary program. I am not arguing against social programs, I understand their necessity, I was arguing that a stagnant fertility is requisite for maintaining them. That is the position of somebody in support.

To my knowledge a ponzi scheme consists of somebody paying his debts with sums that he has borrowed from others, which he will proceed to reimburse with another loan from a subsequent participant.

The "loan" in this sense is the value that is taxed from a worker and remitted to a pensioner. The taxed worker will be due a pension himself in most states after an age.
