desu, the power the English monarchy was pretty sporadic through the centuries. In the 11th and 12th centuries they were all powerful. In the 13th and 14th they were severely weakened. The Tudor monarchs were very unusually powerful for English monarchs. Given the changes during the 17th century, I fear such an event was inevitable.

But it wasn't as bad as the French Revolution thank god.

I often argue with my mother about if Henry the 8th was good or bad. She being a Catholic is opposed to him and I being Protestant believe he was overall good.

Just because the Monarchy had to be torn down and weakened for it to live does not mean that those responsible aren't traitors.

The book was specifically written for the laypleb, I actually thought it was pretty easy to read, and for the anon asking, I'd say it was pretty insightful on the topic of paychoanalytic dream interpretation because each author uses vast example of their own case study. Part 5 of the book is of an entire case study of the individuation process of a younger client who had yet to reach any sort of midlife crises/neurosis (somewhat relevant, explained in the book: they mostly dealt with older patients and sought to refute that as such only fully matured people could benefit from the practice) which gave a more thorough illustration of the entire individuation process through the evolutions of dream pattern and interpretation over time rather than just the conclusory highlight reel otherwise utilized throughout the other four parts of the book. It's fairly short too once you subtract all the pages of illustration.
