Can anyone suggest a good satire to read? I've been thinking of reading Candide by Voltaire but I was hoping I could read something a little more modern. The only satire I've read so far is A Modest Proposal which I loved, but I tried reading Gulliver's Travels and just couldn't stick with it.
So are there any good satires written in the 20-21st century?

House of Leaves.

And the best is that if you don't get the satire part, it's still a pretty cool horror story.

inb4 boring, gimmicky etc.

o.k
but after that are there any must read satires? The main reason I'm looking for something recent is because I don't always know what it is that the writer is satirizing and I'd have a better chance catching satire if it's based on more recent issues
