How do you cope with the existential collective pain induced by the sundering of our modernist narrative foundations? Is the only option to dull myself to the suffering of my peers? Are there any books that can help me channel this pain into something productive? Please no stoic-self-help. My room is perfectly clean.

Do you not feel it? The gaping void where the soil should be. I am suspended in air, scared to even breathe for I think I will fall. Modernism failed. No sane person would want that back.

It is nice to go insane. To let Wagner's madness take over. To pretend, only for an hour, that these ideas are possible. That we can rebuild. That we can strive again. Oh it is just withing my grasp. I can feel it with every cell in my body. But then I remember Hiroshima, and know that the human race would not live through that again. We got lucky. We will not get lucky a second time.
