Would you trust a woman who sleeps with her mentally disabled brother?

For real tho, she wanted to cover up Nietzsche's edges so much she tried to claim The Antichrist had been altered. She was a christian who tried to ignore Nietzsche's attack on Christianity, which is the central motif of his entire philosophy. She also had to conceal the bits of his works where he outright praised the Jews, in order to sell it to the nazis. She did more harm to Nietzsche's legacy than any other historical person.

Def not his sister, if you read some letters you'll see she was clearly fucked up and their relationship was pathological to say the least

Nietzsche was redpilled on the JQ and their vicious strand of tribalistic behaviour, nonetheless, he still had a healthy degree of admiration and respect for Jews and their accomplishments. His sister edited his work in order to display him as a cookie-cutter antisemite for the Nazi Party.

Neither fully, but Kaufman moreso than his sister. Kaufman has an agenda, but it's an agenda of rehabilitation. He's an academic who does actually want to further Nietzsche's work in the public sphere. N.'s sister was just a kooky kraut who wanted to ingratiate herself politically, she didn't want to represent her brother's ideas. Even if she had, she wasn't remotely qualified to read and understand him.

Still, go into Kaufman with an awareness of ways he might be dulling N.'s theories to fit with his agenda to rehabilitate his reputation post-ww2, which involved some mild defanging of his most dangerous propositions.

I'm also not a Nietzsche scholar, and I don't speak German, so take what *I* say with a pinch of salt too.

" Die physiologische Contiguität ermöglicht eine solche disharmonia praestabilita… Aber ich bekenne, dass der tiefste Einwand gegen die „ewige Wiederkunft“, mein eigentlich abgründlicher Gedanke, immer Mutter und Schwester sind."

Clearly his sister bruh...

Kaufmann, of course. Neitzsche had a falling out with Wagner exactly because the latter imbedded his music with a strong sense of nationality – his sister and her husband, both prominent German nationalists, anti-semites and Christians, rewrote his notebooks to further their political propaganda under Nietzsche's name.

Nietzsche considered Thus Spoke Zarathustra to be his masterpiece, anyway.

They are currently working on translating the entirety of his works in that edition. OP, look up the Stanford University Press version of his works, it's still in progress but they have a number of them done already. They are spectacular.

Walter Kaufmann: A pernicious Jewish scholar that built his career on preparing Nietzsche for liberal digestion, that is, sanitizing, de-contextualizing, disassociation of Nietzsche from the most obvious ramification of the man's teaching (National Socialism), incorrectly presenting Nietzsche as a wisdom writer and then tellingly doing absolutely nothing about the fraudulent platitudinization of Nietzsche by liberal 'critical-theorists' like Derrida, Klossowski, Butler, Foucault, Deleuze and similar garbage. Kaufmann's translations are useful, just so long as the reader pays absolutely no attention to his notes.

If you think Nietzsche was a friend of nationalism, especially German nationalism, you haven't read Nietzsche very closely or at all.
