This went well last time so let's do it again:

- Post a book (preferably one you would wish more people to read).

- Post a list of names.

- If your name is called, you need to read that book.

Let's get this thread going:
Dylan, Danielle, Daisy, Joshua, Jean, Gene, Jennifer, Jared, Leslie, Laurence, Robert, Brian, Joseph, Dara, Dana, Stanley. Pick up this book.

Not posting it for points in edginess, it's just genuinely a beautiful collection of stories.

Those whose names are mentioned are supposed to read the book the poster chooses (usually it is shown as an attached pic).
Example, if your name is Joshua, you read Rashomon and Seventeen Other Stories, because that is the pic OP chose.

People always complain when their name is never called and the thread just turns into an image dumping ground.

At least if you call out multiple names, more people get involved and even take part in the thread.

We had a very popular one yesterday, anon. Don't sweat it.

I genuinely think not enough people on /lit/ have read this despite it being essential baby's first lit-core. It's less horror and more about the virtues of love and friendship, although it gets a bit spooky too.

This book is reserved for: Jim, James, Michael, Michelle, Akira, Christopher, Noah, Arnold, Francois, Alfred, Jane, Terrence, Kenneth, Thibault, Jason, Harlan, Charles, Ruth, Barney.

You just have to be in the mood for it.
I wasn't when I tried, and I didn't finish it, but what I can tell, is that the biblical theme is very well executed, and that the prose is great.
My teacher told me once that Mann writes in a way that suggest he wants to write a novella but he keeps going on, and he doesn't stop well until it's two volumes long.
