You realize this isn't just reading 2 booklets and a Wikipedia article? It's a dozen doorstoppers and a gorillion smaller works?

>smart persons book
>libertarian

Assuming this is not a troll, I usually hate this chart, and do not assign these works much worth over and above literary young adult fiction, but you might as well start here.

If you want to get into understanding of political philosophy and history, you have tons of books from the French philosophes to neo-liberals like Fukuyama.

I would forget about German Idealism for now, there is a reason many of the pseuds enjoy throwing around Nietzsche and Stirner in pretentious back and forths, but very rarely delve into Kant

The Greeks. But for the modern era I suppose Rousseau's The Discourse on the Origin of Inequality is a good enough starting point.

There is no prevailing political philosophy on this board. Your post could be seen as a "libertarians are dummys" swipe. Assuming it isnt, I apologize

There is none. Lefties, righties, uppies, downies we have them all. Lit is inherently left leaning itself and there are some hardcore larping marxists, but it's counterbalanced by a steady stream of poltards in the last months years.
