it's not so much living in the illusion as much as your awareness of doing so. Any philosophy or model of stoicisim you outfit for yourself is going to be banal, self-contradictory, and little more than a few platitudes stacked on eachother. It's important to recognize these fixtures for what they are, and be able to shift and move them as necessary as opposed to taking them for granted as some static element of your life.

It occurs to me that knowing there is a red pill is the same as taking the red pill (outside of the /pol/ connotation).

Knowledge is inevitable, and in my own experiences truth will force its way through whether I like it or not. I suppose the choice lies in whether you allow gnosis to flow naturally or you cling to the illusion. But once the door is opened, even slightly, there is no going back.
