Is there any good Irish lit that is not postmodern autism?

I know they have some good playwrights, but I'm more interested in books

The four best known writers from Ireland, one of which you posted. O'brien, Beckett, Yeats, Joyce. Or maybe you're really as stupid as your post suggests

Most Irish writers are realists. Just the most famous ones are experimental madlads. Edna O'Brien, Roddy Doyle, Sebastien Barry, Colm Tobin. Hell, just google "Irish writers" and if you don't recognise their name they're probably realists.

John McGahern is a really good short story writer. I haven't read any of his novels though, so can't say if they're any good or not
John Banville is worth a read as well
