Any of the following:
Remarque, All Quiet on the Western Front
Sophocles, Oedipus Rex AND Antigone
Homer, The Iliad
Dante, Inferno

you are a very lucky sod to get to read these for a school project.

>> No.918499

>>918329

>>Grass, Tin Drum
if you are no german you might neither appreciate nor understand it well enough to get a good mark

>>Dumas, Count of Monte Cristo and Swift, Gulliver’s Travels
those two seem to be traps, simple books but in a row with those? . . .

>>Dante, Inferno and Homer, The Iliad and Sophocles, Oedipus Rex AND Antigone
all of them can be repetetiv and very boring . . . but if you are into this stuff . . .

hope i could help you a bit

i´m not only about the context, but about the style too.
the structures of the scenes resemble each other annoyingly (especially in antigone) , though i know the author did this on purpose . . . just pointing it out.

Kid, you don't know shit.

Fiction is repetitive because it requires dramatic structure

>>Sartre, No Exit and Three Other Plays
i didn´t say the same thing about those. i read three of sarte´s plays and while his endings and main characters - if i may say so - resemble each other (can´t tell about "no exit"), i wouldn´t say that about the rest.

Don Quixote de La Mancha by God-Emperor Cervantes.

One of the best books I've ever read.

The inferno was a giant rant where Dante ripped on all of the major figures of his day whom he hated. I loved it, but would only recommend it if you like reading footnotes and exploring the history.

Dumas is awesome. When all of the other authors of his day were trying to be deep and meaningful, he was out there just writing awesome adventure stories (i.e. the Three Musketeers). Count of Monte Cristo is a VERY fun read.

All quiet on the Western front is a pretty easy read and pretty moving.

I have read a few of the other ones too, but those are the first that I would recommend.

>Golding, Lord of the Flies

Utter trash. Avoid.

>> No.920244

Don Quixote for surezies

>> No.920279

If you're looking for something short, go with The Oedipus Cycle, it's entertaining and short. And for fuck's sake, don't read Lord of the Flies.

>> No.920287

A lot of good books there, OP. Me, I would go for either Gulliver's Travels or Don Quixote. The Don is actually funny as all hell. Swift is one of my favorite authors, but the prose is unsettling for some people.

>> No.920288

Dumas, Count of Monte Cristo

Fantastic read. Absolutely awesome. Read his other stuff too.
