Anyone else ever had serious trouble getting a hold of a specific edition of a book (specific translation or whatever)? Bloody infuriating.

Neither any of my local book stores nor Amazon seem to have an unabridged copy of Das Kapital. And from what I understand the abridged versions are pretty arbitrary in what they leave out. It'll be up at the Marxists online archive but I don't feel like reading what's meant to be a tough book whilst burning my eyes out.

Picture related and specifically chosen because of how Marx attracts the users on this site.

Why don't you try to buy it online?

If you're trying specifically to look for an abridged copy of it, I'm glad you're searches are fruitless.

Specifically looking for an unabridged copy but struggling.

Looks like my only option. Shame because this might be the first time amazon has failed me on anything.

Can you print out maybe fifty pages at a type and staple them together and read like that?

Not a bad idea actually. Could get messy given the size but I might do just this.

Presumably you have particular edition in mind. What's the ISBN?

Duplex print it. Perhaps also two pages were sheet (booklet style).

Ideally the Samuel Moore and Edward Aveling translation but I'm struggling to find an ISBN...

I know this is crazy, i just thought it up, but you could always get it done at a self-publisher.

Penguin 3 vol 1970s intros by mandel etc translations from MEGA in current print with a MEGA grundriesse. Obviously doesn't have a vol 4 but theories of surplus value is readily available.

You could always try an interlibrary loan deal at the public library to get a scholarly edition or goto a university library if one is nearby
