I'm writing a sequel to Earnest Cline's Ready Player One. What are some movies and games that should be expounded upon to help round out the story?
I'm already using Star Trek TNG and minecraft. What shows movies and games would you feature and why?

The gist of the novel will follow a small group of scavengers in a post "egg hunt" OASIS. Wade watts and his friends beat the grand quest and said they'd keep IOI from monetizing access but everyone else is still poor and struggling. The story follows those still scraping to get by in the real world and in the gaming world as they seek out to find the remaining rare artifacts that could make them majors players in the OASIS or be sold to help improve their lives when they're unplugged.
