For reading high, only either read poetry or read something you've read before.

Do not read anything new, it's boring when you realize halfway through a page you've forgotten everything in there

But when you read for prose or for poetry when high, it's an amazing experience desu. If you're going to reread a novel, don't read for plot, read for prose, for the use of language, and for imagery.

But it's still an entirely grand experience that is completely different to reading normally. Especially reading imagery-heavy books with great prose is literally magical. One of my favorite moments ever is when I read Mishima while high as fuck on a beach.

I still don't like it better than reading sober and do it only very few times but when I do it's really amazing. You shouldn't close yourself to ideas because of your preconceptions.

I agree heartily. I read Infinite Jest for about half an hour high and at the and I couldn't remember a bit of what I'd read. It was fun, though.

high or sober it doesn't matter to me. although I smoke weed all day every day I wouldn't say I'm high. weed stopped getting me high 10 years ago. not even sure why I smoke it. I'm just addicted.

Try reading poetry while high, it's an amazing experience.
