hey guys. super specific request time again.

i'm looking for some fiction where a main character goes from being an apprentice to journeyman to adept to master. my first choice would be for some kung fu shit where some stupid grasshopper keeps begging some reluctant old man on a mountain to teach him, and when he does accept him as an apprentice all he does for months is ambush the kid all the time.

if you can't think of that anything that follows the same journey from neophyte to lord of the craft will do.
