Don't fall for the Prometheus Rising meme. There are a few interesting bits, but it's mostly wild speculation about evolutionary psychology and stoner philosophy. He spends a decent chunk of the book talking about how UFOs might be real and that "life-extension pills" are just around the corner. You're better off listening to Joe Rogan desu.
