Supposing Marx was a mediocre political economist, what more obscure philosopher would be entertaining to have been the basis of global political revolutuon?

You're right.

Calling Marx mediocre is generous by /lit/ standards.

Friedman promises you can sell off everything and make lots of money as a politician and not spend anything on the citizenry and like shit should just work except you totally have to sell everything. Also he has a dynasty, like his son is an economist, and his grandson, and I think there's another grandson. And they all agree he was p much right on everything. The way I see the stereotypical sleazy politician is how Friedman comes across to me too, avoiding questions and moving goalposts in an argument and whatnot, and I think there's a kind of fraternity feel going on. And finally, he's like daddy libertarian.

What makes him most punchable imo is his whole trying to be coy about fucking up Chile and washing his hands of the whole mess until someone says anything vaguely positive about what happened there.

I think you're right, I think I read a badly worded article on it.

For the other guy, that predates Friedman. That's like Georgism.
