I'm in the mood for some serious cowardice.

Something like Flashman, Ciaphas Cain, Rincewind, etc.

I want protagonists that are more than happy to run away from confrontations or to wait until their enemy goes to sleep to cut their throat.

I want to revel in low mindedness and an astounding lack of moral fibre. All a backbone will do is get you killed in a dog eat dog world, right?

You know what I'm looking for. Does anything come to mind?

Any more suggestions? I ain't too proud to beg.

It's not exactly what you're looking for, but I think you'd enjoy the Cugel the Clever books by Jack Vance.

Cugel is less a coward and more a completely amoral scoundrel, but I think you would enjoy it.

At this point, I'll settle for amoral scoundrel.

Thanks.

Try Raymond Chandler. Imagine the protagonist sounds like Humphrey Bogart.

Read. Do love me some Chandler though. People don't realise how funny some of his books are.

I've never actually read Flashman but bought Ciaphus Cain, which I enjoyed. So... taking that into account... should I look for Flashman?

Fucking hilarious shit.

>>874343
Definitely. The prose is different from the Ciaphas books and Flashman isn't as likeable but you'll love it after a short while.

His books were ruined for me when I listened to a BBC version where the women were voice by men and they all sounded like transvestites.

Any other Skaven stories besides A Murder in Marienburg? Definitely a selection of cowards in there if so. :3

The Bandy Papers. Don't know much about it, except set during WWI from a Canadian perspective. It's from the Flashman school, though technically the first book predates it. For some reason I really dig this cover.

Ahhh, I've been meaning to read some of Raymond Chandler's books for ages. I don't quite know where to start though.
