Why does she abhor poor people? No memes, please.

The part in the fountainhead where public housing and social welfare is posed as a crutch keeping mankind from its true potential is pretty damning. Also, she didnt really address where her "no charity for anyone" system fits in with the millions upon millions of mentally ill, orphans, individuals with crippling degenerative illnesses, and the infirm aged.

This point is where 20 year old me lost my edge and realized Scandinavian Social Democracy was the best of all worlds.

She hates poor people that do not attempt to better their station or work hard to subsist on what they can bring home by themselves. The second someone goes on welfare, he becomes a leech.

Personally, I don't think it's what she's said that people abhor, but people who have claimed to used her philosophy and have her as their inspiration that people find abhorrent.

Ayn Rand also didn't believe in anarchy either.

>Anarchy, as a political concept, is a naive floating abstraction: . . . a society without an organized government would be at the mercy of the first criminal who came along and who would precipitate it into the chaos of gang warfare. But the possibility of human immorality is not the only objection to anarchy: even a society whose every member were fully rational and faultlessly moral, could not function in a state of anarchy

>>8257177
That sounds like an ad hominem.

>> No.8257222

Objectivism's central tenets are that reality exists independently of consciousness, that human beings have direct contact with reality through sense perception, that one can attain objective knowledge from perception through the process of concept formation and inductive logic, that the proper moral purpose of one's life is the pursuit of one's own happiness (rational self-interest), that the only social system consistent with this morality is one that displays full respect for individual rights embodied in laissez-faire capitalism, and that the role of art in human life is to transform humans' metaphysical ideas by selective reproduction of reality into a physical form—a work of art—that one can comprehend and to which one can respond emotionally. Morals are derived by the fact that we only have one life to live and that we should live it to the fullest. And as such, the standard of value is derived from their own individual lives.
