Alright, /lit/, I'm going to the library tomorrow and must know what I should get from William S. Burroughs and Allen Ginsberg. Also, some recommendations for future references.

Don't fail me, /lit/.

Sounds like you already have your mind made up. I would suggest Rabbit, Run by John Updike

>> No.819058

If you can find it, get Word Virus for Burroughs if you want an overview of his life and work. It's an anthology, I think Flamingo published it. OTHERWISE I reccomend Naked Lunch and The Wild Boys, they're experimental but not as much as say the cut up trilogy which is all, well, cut up. Ahem.

As for Ginsberg I think there's a few anthologies for him as well. Howl and At Apollinaire's Grave are probably his best poems, but I haven't read a huge lot.

Anymore?

The Western Lands by Burroughs is good. And Burroughs is ten times the writer Ginsberg is. We don't worry about Ginsberg. Or Kerouac.

Both posts were answers to your question man.

Junky and Naked Lunch. I don't like Ginsberg.

I bought Naked Lunch and will read it after my trip to the library. I've got all summer.

Bumping.

Bourroughs Junky if you want something easy, Naked Lunch if you want the hardcore crazy stuff (although I'd actually recommend that you get the audiobook of Naked Lunch).
