even for his time, lovecraft's works can be considered racist; he was a recluse and didn't seem to interact a lot with people except with his penpals. this may explain the horrible dialogue in his stories

It's difficult to say, but I would have to lean on his reclusive nature as a cause, if not a symptom.

The difficulty with anger like racism is that the people who so frequently have it only give you a list of reasons, but rarely have they thought further into why it would make them angry.

It could have given his own frustrations with people validation, but... Eh, it's all guess work from here on out.
