Advice would be helpful. Co- Writer is Four-Eyes.

Also, choose your favorite plot.

Two friends, both wealthy and successful writers, have been entrusted with special gifts from some mystical jest or some hoopla. Those gifts are notebooks. The notebooks have the power to make the writers' literary works become reality. The catch is that the effects of the notebooks power will only work if the consequences are obtained in some way that is a story. The rewards cannot simply be awarded. They must be earned, the notebook makes it easier to earn those. The second catch is that the notebooks are bound by friendship. One writer's notebook affects the other writer. A problem occurs and one writer tries to kill of the other while the other tries to survive.

Second: Only one notebook. Writer has it stolen and must use the clues from each plight to kill him or destroy his reputation to find who stole the notebook.

Sorry for the trips, it's required to keep from hijacking.
The problem, as described in the first idea, could be this: One writer has a series of terrible tragedies befall him. He writes something to befall the other writer, who has, by comparison, a much better life. This better-off writer then seeks revenge, through a series of torturous events, each worse than the last.

Right. Do you have anything of worth to contribute, or will you go back to enjoying that bowl of dicks?

Good comeback. Would you like to help us out now, since you've got a better idea?

>The notebooks have the power to make the writers' literary works become reality.

I swear I have heard this plot before, but I can't remember where. Maybe in a Borges or Abe short story...

>The catch is that the effects of the notebooks power will only work if the consequences are obtained in some way that is a story.

You lost me. Care to explain it again?

He explains that.

So, you can't just write 'santa give me a million dollars'.

Technically, yes. For the story's sake we'll make it more elaborate.

Yeah I get that, but how does he earn it? Does one person write a story in the magic notebook and the other has to live out that exact story, then they get rewarded?

I see the problems raised there, but currently, yes. We'll probably change it at some point.

It's in a primal state at best. We'll work things out.
i was thinking he get's it from someone who knows that the outcome will be how it is because it always does that.

Don't really know. we'll see how much the story can develop.

Care to elaborate? I'm not really sure what you mean.

> The notebooks have the power to make the writers' literary works become reality

It's kind of like Death Note but the notebook runs on dreams and rainbows. But srsly, plot can only take you so far -- need to see writing style (there are too many good ideas with bad execution).

Unless you're writing in a group, this is incorrect. But co-writing (round robin ish writing) can come up with "interesting" results.

Would you consider somehow showing what it was exactly that they were writing in the notebooks? As some sort of way to progress narrative?

Also, its predictable, but having a main character about to do something crucial only to run completely out of room would be cool.

That is a really good idea. I'll talk it over with my partner.
