I am interested, if anyone on /lit/ cares about fine art to find out something. I am a painter who reads a lot, and my closest friend is a writer. I want to know, who is -your- favorite visual artist?

Pic related: It's my favorite artist; Egon Schiele. This is not my favorite of his works, but as fine an example as any.

Same guy again, and I wouldn't say she is 'so famous', in fact barely anyone knows of her work, or her. I just do a lot of research. As an artist, I find learning about artists equally as interesting as just painting. Often learning about artists' lives helps me understand art and technique more.
