This would be so hilarious if they published his manifesto with that as the cover.

I've posted it before but I really think /lit/ should publish this in paperback with our own title etc. I guarantee it will make money.

Who would be the copyright owner? His parents?

>> No.7289787

It's freely available online, but the format is shitty as hell. It's almost as badly presented as the Suicide manifesto. If My Twisted World was published with nice spacing and decent formatting etc it would definitely sell. It has over 2 million views on Scribd online. Look at Stephen King's "Rage", which was pretty much the same length and about the same thing (and written from the perspective of a teenager). It sold masses of copies before the publishers persuaded him to let it go out of print a few decades ago.

Wouldn't it be public domain? (See pic for on topic posting)

Yes it is, but it's poorly formatted. It deserves better IMO, not for the literary quality but for the fact that it one of the most interesting and humorous perspectives of the contemporary young male ethos in existence. It's like /r9k/s funniest greentexts put together.

here's the whole thing. tbh notes from the underground for the 21st century. If elliot hadn't martyred himself on a premature beta uprising he'd be our generation's Dovstoevsky

Can someone tell me who did the art cover? He used to be one of my favourite painters but I haven't paid him any mind in years so his name eludes me.
Please please help...

No he wouldn't, stop being a sperg. The genius of this novel is that Elliot was, unlike most people, intensely convinced in his perspective of the world, and luckily for us it is extremely funny and also interesting in a sociological sense.

The fact he writes like someone from the 18th century and continually references his aristocratic bloodline, added to his Ignatius-tier sensitivity to perceived slights and degeneracy, really do convert the real life Elliot Rodger into a more hilarious version of himself, one that will be forever enshrined in the book he wrote. Most authors, if they tried to write something like this, could never possess the requisite butthurt and sadness to do so. BEE tweeted two years ago or something that he was writing a sequel to I believe LTZ, but even if he did publish it now there's no chance it would be as funny and inciteful as Elliot's book.

>> No.7290215

he seems like the epitome of a certain zeitgeist, toxic internet echochambers where what was once trolling now has become meaningful. kind of tragic tbh

>>7290215
What's great about Elliot is that he is simply the modern equivalent of the Werthers etc that have always reappeared in every generation and in every form of literature. Writing how he wears designer clothes and splashes people with his starbucks orange juice is so much less cringeworthy to read about when he actually invested in this thing on an emotional level, rather than hack satirist trying to create a humorous protagonist to laugh at.

otherwise pretty good evaluation of E. Rodger's contribution to the world. his melodrama is almost unbelievable.

Not to be a meme lord but I agree with this.

Its not that there isn't any good books (there is).
It's just that not enough time has passed to see which books have had/will have the biggest influence on literature + be good.

I don't think you necessarily have to be one to appreciate literature, like wine, that has been aged so that we can realize its perfection. I do get what you mean though. Spot on m8.
