Are there any writers who were incredibly physically gifted? I'm talking about athletes, firefighters, boxers, and I guess soldiers.

I think there's a certain perspective and grit that comes from the pursuit of physical greatness. Then again, it could be like DFW says in "How Tracy Austin Broke My Heart," where the best athletes can live in the moment in a way that isn't conducive to introspection or profound revelations about the human condition.

Stuff along the lines of:

-FX Toole - Rope Burns (adopted into the movie Million Dollar Baby)
-Things They Carried
-Sam Sheridan
And don't say Hemingway, he doesn't know shit about my jiujitsu and that's if he could get past my muay thai (doubtful). Would not even blink about fighting him.

Pic related: During his latest title defense, Robbie Lawler got kicked in the face and literally spat blood at his opponent's feet out of contempt.

I have varied interests. I'd like to believe that being a big dick alpha doesn't preclude you from trying to read good, too.

Honestly though. An old girlfriend gave me a copy of Ben Brooks' "Grow Up." It's sitting on my bookshelf and I've never even cracked it open. I just find the idea of taking any sort of life advice from pic related just... groce.

That fight between Lawler and MacDonald was devastating. I wanted Rory to win so bad, but Lawler proved himself to be the better fighter. I can't wait for Rory to train his ass off and come back with a vengeance.

I seriously believe he'll have the WW belt one day within the next two years.

Nah, Rory's still a fearless killer. He said after the fight that he had "the best time of his life." Nobody in the right mind would say that after you saw what his face looked like following the fight.

Condit couldn't handle Rory in a rematch. The best bet for Rory is if Condit can beat Lawler and then Rory can come in and beat Condit for the belt. Or maybe Diaz can have the NSAC ban lifted and come back and get the belt from Lawler. Imagine how ballistic the world would go.

Pic related: it's Rory having "the best time of his life."

I think Condit is a little overrated at this point but the Lawler fight should be a banger. I still want to see him scrap with Matt Brown if he loses to Robbie, who should fight Tyron next.

Yeah, I don't see Tyron Woodley taking the belt from either Condit or Lawler, honestly. Lawler would make it look like a toddler fighting his dad, and I can see Condit dominating him just like Rory did.

Rory-Hendricks would be a great fight (if Johny "Big Pigg" Hendricks can make weight, that is). Those guys are the only two who I could see posing any threat whatsoever to Lawler.

We'll just have to see how Condit-Lawler plays out. Maybe Condit can throw a Uriah Hall spinning back kick out of nowhere and get the W. Who knows?
