I don't think you understood my post: I meant that, because a small population of /lit/ is extremely intelligent (which I would say is 130 and up) the overall average IQ of the board is lifted upward. And I would bet that the vast majority of 4chan's population doesn't breach 110, especially on boards like /b/, /pol/, and /tv/.

The last time I got tested my IQ was at 97. The test was not taken online and was fairly reliable. It took about an hour and a half to complete. I don't know what it is for the rest of this board but I'd be interested in knowing.

You definitely have in school at least once, but it's unlikely they shared the results with you because that's considered bad practice.

I went to a private school, and when I was a senior they showed me my scores from the handful of times I'd been tested over the years. I won't share the score because you'll think I'm lying or bragging but they were quite consistent. I was a national merit scholar

I say this as someone who was put in more than one special education program for emotional reasons. I can't remember one time when I had anything like an IQ test (unless you count things like star tests and the like as equivalents) outside of the special ed services.

NYC public schools had a program that specifically used a psychologist to test entering kindergarteners for high IQ 4 and 5 year olds. If you got 130 or above, or scored very high in a particular area then you were admitted into a program. The standards have changed since.

My SAT and GRE scores correlate pretty closely to my directly-measured IQ, so I buy it that those correlations are legit. There are definitely some similarities between the types of questions on the SAT/GRE and IQ tests, but the IQ questions are a little more abstract.

I never did IQ testing at school, but they tested me as a part of the psychiatric testing they did just before I got out of the ward. I was 125 standard with verbal 140.

Of course, I dropped out of school when I was 13 so that's probably why I was never done.

It measures something, but that something doesn't determine everything about you, just your capacity for certain things. You can make an index to measure someone's capacity for aggression but all sorts of variable determine whether they'll end up committing a murder.

If you want to be a doctor it's better to have a high IQ and if you want to be an MMA champ it's better to score high on that aggression index, but there are doctors with unremarkable IQs and gentle men who kick a ton of ass.

While we're seeing what sort of brains are on /lit/, I'd like to state that while my overall score hovers around 140, that's a rough estimate because I've never been given a test of verbal intelligence that I didn't hit the ceiling on. I'm sure one exists but nobody wanted to bother ordering the test and giving it to me individually because the standard test told them enough for educational purposes.

Not sure the IQ equivalent, but I got a 486 on this Assessment at my D-II university in the Midwest. This is the data for university juniors who've completed 60-91 credit hours.

I dont post often but i lurk on /lit/ alot. I took some test online and got 115 but I consider myself / I am unintelligent so those tests dont always give an accurate measurement.

Either way just from what ive read, there does seem to be people with high IQ's that post here.
