Ah, a true classic. It's amazing how people don't realize Griffiths, Pilkey et. al were really satirizing our modern condition, with a view to solipsism.

Pilkey's use of the prison system as a metaphor for the modern educational system is spot on.

Don't forget this one!

A deep and shocking statement about becoming disillusioned with the idols of one's childhood. It turns out Father Christmas needs a wee, just like the rest of us.

>Weston Ochse's SEAL Team 666 follows Cadet Jack Walker. Halfway through SEAL training, he's still green but showing incredible promise when he's whisked away to join four SEALs--and their dog--for a special ops mission. Walker soon finds himself in a whirlwind of otherworldly creatures and events as he finds out the true nature of this "special ops" team: SEAL Team 666. Battling demons, possessed humans, mass-murdering cults, and evil in its most dark and primeval form, SEAL Team 666 has their work cut out for them. And it's not long before they realize that the threat isn't just directed against the U.S.--an ancient and deadly cult has bigger plans, and Walker is at the center of a supernatural conflict with the entire world at stake.

But wait, there's more

>Legend holds that when Britain is in its darkest hour, King Arthur will return to save the country, if not the world. That legend is dead wrong. When a Grove of Druids sacrifice the lives of a group of innocents, including the fiancée of a member of SEAL Team 666, the ancient king is brought back from the dead and sets his sight on subjugating humanity and cleansing his land of all who are not true Britons. Because of political sensitivities, Triple 6 is ordered to stand down, but that order is ignored by one of them seeking his own vengeance. Now, the members of America's elite supernatural-hunting team must decide what is more important: their orders or their loyalty to their own team member.

Fuck. I found this old Andy Griffiths book in my Dad's shed a few weeks ago. I loved this book. It spoke to the fuck-up I believed myself to be.

Anyone remember the story where he seals up his shower with polyfilla to make it a floating tank, but then it gets too heavy and breaks through the floor and into the living room?

These books have had a bigger affect on me than Joyce, Keats, and Shakespeare combined

I found Just Stupid at home a few months ago and read it over the course of the day. It's held up surprisingly well. Terry Denton's drawings and meta-goofery has me laughing aloud.
