Would you agree that we live in a cyber punk world?

Watch the first few minutes of this interview.
I dare you to say this doesn't look like THE stereotipical ass kissing fake interview you find represented in cyberpunk media.

Not quite yet, but we're on the edge of it. If tech becomes intergrated into out bodies, we're there.

This is possible. At first I didn't agree with Debord that leisure from labor is not actually any sort of liberation... But the more I work the more I agree.

I still want to read this for the memes (have it on my shelf unread, that cover and all), but of course it still emanates from the same bad root, as this guy >>7144666 correctly points out (satan confirms). So whatever truth is in it would have to be uncoupled from its Marxist pedigree.

A sordid, titillating story of my purchase follows..! Dare you read on..?!

I actually went into an expressly radical leftist bookstore to purchase my commodity, and no fun signs or coffee for the hipsters either. Real, straight-up commie journals, anti-white meetups, the whole bit. Although I did appreciate a "Fuck Google" flyer. I asked for a copy and it was front and center on the desk, they hand these modern classics out like candy to tourists and reverse-fellow-travelers like myself, I guess.

That was the second time I had been in, and it's always unhappy old men, which lets you know that they are onto the truth, someone could say. On the earlier visit, two old white guys were riffing back and forth on stock issues that you'd expect to hear in such a place. They were like Statler and Waldorf without the humor. Stalin and .... Waclaw? Some "W" red name?

The early parts are absolutely correct in their assessment of our society, but it does it does get more into Marxism as you read on.

Also, as dope as that cover is, I have that and the Donald Nicholson-Smith translation and the latter is much better.

Yes, we just lack the part that makes the society we live in aesthetically coherent. Which is the only good aspect of cyber punk.
