Was he a happy men /lit?
Did he found happinnes in his absurdist recognition of the world or was he a cynical?
I think he tried to explain that happinnes was unnecessary to live with in "The Myth of Sysiphus"

He was three dwarfs in a Camus costume, so you'd have to have asked the dwarves.

There are only two faiths
-the faith in the human rules [through immanence]
-the faith in the deities [through transcendence]

the point is to depart from the faith, which strong men do and manage, but too many believe that they are strong enough to live faithless and end up depressed leading the way to suicide.

I somehow don't believe that a rich, famous, attractive man will really stick to his cynical or absurdist views once he gets to that point where life really is just pretty comfy.

atheists just need to deify some "worldly" object, since they don't believe in an afterlife. And Voila! no suicidal thoughts!

what a crock of shit

Camus was depressed and, like many french writers, had a talent for writing flowery nonsense that resonates with empty-headed children who desire to feel intellectually above the rest of their contemporaries without any work. Blame Voltaire.

Took an Eng class for my transfer credits and it was on Camus. The Stranger, The Myth..., and these journals 2009-2014 that were edited by my professor.

This is what the last journal looked like. Needless to say the in class discussion was mostly between some edgelord atheist and some religious girl. Every single time they brought up their attitude towards god and the discussions were always derailed to their dialogue.

I couldn't stand another day after midterms.

Also my professor told us how he met a close relative of the girl that survived the car accident camus died in.

Once we are faithless, there is no longer an interest in transcendence nor immanence. It is nice that people who cannot live without them have indeed their faith. I think that to live faithless brings to much appeasement in order to try to change people.

>>7145596
>>atheists just need to deify some "worldly" object
but this becomes faith: the typical occidental atheist have faith in the human rights, and the scientific methods. They fetishize the constitutions, penal codes, and the books on sciences.
