>That's an excerpt from a book meant to be read on an iPhone or Apple Watch. It's available on an app that launched this week called Hooked. Prerna Gupta describes her app as "books for the Snapchat generation."

This app is essentially creepy pasta in a voyeur and/or at times near-interactive fashion. Some stories work with this format, while others are clunky and exposition heavy.

The subscription fees are a bit bullshit, but the annual one breaks down to a not too bad monthly cost as long as the quality increases and rests at the level of the best of the few I've so far read.

It's free; give it a shot before just declaring it a horrid and vapid example of what is wrong with a generation.

Jap authors have been doing this for close to a decade.

You ridicule those who care and those who don't. You play for the status quo, for the physically or monetarily strong, you vote Bush, you start ridiculous wars. You are so fucking naive, like fat sweaty children pursing some summer-time adventure, oblivious of everything, not knowing evil big papa is spying on you, murdering you, robbing you and all the rest of the world...

Fucking american sheep. You are the laughing stock of the civilized world. The Romans at least left us with beautiful gnostic imagery, sculptures, rich histories.
What will YOU leave buried in the sands of time? Golden teeth grills? Football stadiums? A crate of guns? A KKK hood? The long forgotten memory of some sex symbol? A novel about footnotes?

God damn you.
