I'm beginning to feel like the majority of the people here are idiots and that it is just a small amount of people that make this board seem smart.

That's mainly because the majority of the user base on this board happens to be underaged.

It feels like that ratio has steadily gotten worse.
The brighter ones should leave though. I don't blame them.

I am certain that the majority here are idiots. Mostly because people here are very young, second because even smart people shitpost aftwrall we are anonymous, third because I come here once a week and this stupidity always surprises me, forth because whenever I post something people compliment a lot.

This board only seems smart in comparisson to other boards and only in theme (books = smart), because the level of discussion is mostly the same.

I came back to this board after a few years out of 4chan.
This board is cancer. It was never good, but it used to be tolerable.

Thinking about writing for submission, trying to get published so that I could have a reputation as a writer.

I never post here, since I don't ever write anything long and most people here seem to want to write a novel

I am procrastinating on a presentation that is due tomorrow. I'm actually really close to being done but I read what I already have and it sounds like total garbage. now every time I look at it I get overwhelmed with intense anxiety and find myself watching survival videos on Youtube.

Not to mention that after I finish writing out the presentation I have to write a thesis statement and create an outline for another class. Both are due tomorrow.

Any procrastination advice anyone can lend?

I am attempting to diagram Socrate's (plato's) argument as to why Virtue is the sole good, and the strongest question Ive come up with is not "What makes things good, is it truth?" Or "Is virtue truely necessary or is it contigent?" but instead "Is the girl, the girl who I cant read like any book, is she thinking of me?" I want to put that in my diagram, but I dont think even Socrate's found a truth or virtue to my dilemna.

/lit/ is a weird mixture of undergrads who want to escape being the humble bottom of the totem pole and be allowed to jerk themselves off for being intellectuals for a change, and cloistered grad students or otherwise rare well-read people who are sick of having no one to share it with and basically only come here to spam recommendations for the three topics they know about

If you browse often enough, and you look real carefully, you can see the former group osmose the singular posts of the latter group on a more-or-less weekly basis, so that a recommendation by someone in the know on some topic will quickly become the stock response by EVERYONE on that topic, a majority of whom never read it, but now know it is the correct response and want to show off that they do

I've observed the same thing, particularly because after I'd recommended a set of books a few times and explained them, they became stock answer when someone asked for help on the topic when previous to my spamming of them they'd never been mentioned on the board
Interesting "phenomenon" I guess
