What do you guys think about Orson Scott Card?

I loved Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow, but dropped the shadow series on the third book, because it became boring political strategy, and the characters of Bean and Peter were literally destroyed.
Also liked Speaker for Dead, though it took me some time to get into it. I like both the cold and strict way he makes his children characters, and also the over emotional stuff. And he makes excellent atmosphere and interesting plots.

But what really amuses me about him
>writes about being completely tolerant towards strangers and their actions no matter how extreme and harmful they are, forgiveness to an alien race that killed millions for nothing and heart tearing pigs
>homophob

You can know when something is right but still do wrong despite. It's part of being flawed.

He's a Christ-tard and doesn't know any better. Eventually his kind will die out and we can live in peace, but there's no need to pike on the poor fool.

He gets progressively worse and nastier. Speaker for the Dead was a great book and Xenocide and Children of the Mind are good too but his own views start bleeding in heavily by the end. Everything after was fucking awful Ender's shadow included. I think I read Shadow, the one after then was a reasonable chunk into the one after that before I asked myself what the fuck I was doing and dropped it.

Ender's Game was ok reading but it doesn't feel hugely relevant and is more like a kids book.

What is it with this guy and incest by the way? People notice his creepy paedophilic tones but never that he tries to fit incest into the narrative of the Enderverse on like 3 or 4 separate occasions.

i've enjoyed several of his ender, alvin maker books and stand alones. his greatest strength is characterization.

i think his religion is dumb. from his books, he seems like he'd be fairly understanding about human nature and faults but nope, i guess not.

First book was good but the quality sank in the later ones. But at least he isn't as awful as Terry Goodkind.

I think everyone liberals hating him when he started disagreeing with liberals, which goes to show that liberals don't really believe in freedom of expression, which isn't surprising since so many of them are closet Maoists.
