How does /lit/ feel about making a personalized book club? We'd assign a weekly reading assignment and have discussion about it over Skype or something similar. Also we can generally talk about other things /lit/ related. Make a close circle of friends who can have healthy discussion. I figured rather than create a general (which is considered the cancer of 4chan by many) we add a layer of familiarity. Maybe that might inspire some anons to actually pick up a book.

there already is a lit IRC. Skype is a more active form of sending stuff cause there's actual notifications and a deeper sense of community. I'm asking for a group like this in the first place to leave behind anonymity for a more cordial time. it's easier to get inspired for someone with an identity, over the rabid masses of anons tbh

I have a little skype group with three people I met from /lit/. These three people are the only ones remaining from an already defunct /lit/ skype group. What would guarantee that your group wouldn't suffer the same fate, OP? I'd be interested in joining something again but I'd have to make sure the group stays on point and somehow manages to linger on.
