By the information autists perceive and can't process I meant the sensory and factual information that normal people filter in order to be able to process the world around them. The reason you're able to see your friend driving by in a car while you're walking down a street is that your brain filters out anything it deems irrelevant to what you are doing, whereas people with autism will be overwhelmed by the information they are being flooded with (especially if they're walking down a road for the first time). The info they can't perceive relates to social mechanisms and instinct. They can't read emotions or peoples intentions very well, have trouble reading faces, etc.
