THE “RED PILL” IS A METAPHOR FOR ANOTHER KIND OF DELUSION; THE ILLUSION OF FALSE ENLIGHTENMENT.

"PILLS", AND OTHER SILLY METAPHORS ONLY OCCLUDE ONE FROM REALITY, ESPECIALLY IF ONE LACKS ANALYTICAL SKILLS, AND INTUITION, WHICH WOULD BE THE PRIMARY CAUSE FOR HAVING BEEN DELUDED ORIGINALLY; A RATIONAL PERSON IS IMMUNE TO DELUSION.

ID EST: “PILLS” ARE MINDCANDY FOR IDIOTS, AND “STUPID” PERSONS.

It explains phenomenas differently or, in opposition to mainstream, tries to explain something at all. The mainstream already contains multiple ideologies. One of the main problems I have with red pill philosophies is they end up being more narrow minded and one note than what they are criticizing. The other problem is its just right wing/reactionary viewpoints dressed up in a pretentious metaphor. Though kinda weak a book like the Handbook For Rebels and Outlaws (http://www.mediafire.com/view/ovpks97mmhvcxm4/Handbook_for_Rebels_and_Outlaw.pdf)) has more interesting tidbits than all the red pill stuff I've seen.

If that is your definition of the "red pill" then it is a meaningless one as many people in the mainstream try to point out facts that they think people aren't aware off. People who take the "red pill" gravitate to a select few issues, the example you decided to use an excellent example of that.
