If nihilism is true, then is meaning and significance fundamentally a delusional thing?
How could the human mind conceive of something so abstract with no basis in reality?

Yes, but it isn't so you can carry on living your life.

What we can conceive of cannot possibly be nothing. True nothingness is not an idea that the mind can conceive of. In a sense, the real nothing is a nothing beyond the nothing that we know. Even the nothing that we know is something.

Your a 'tard.

To think is one thing, to hold value in something is another.
As an example, money is only worth something while we collectively give it worth, but we are not born with inherent reverance to it, that comes from conditioning. So as a nihilst, you could say that there is no inherent value in it, and possibly a great many other things. Thinking is something we just do, whether we deem it significant or not, so nihilism in that way is a moral philosophy, not teleology or ontology. We may not have purpose or reason to be, but I am yet to read a nihilist that disputes being (whether actual or illusionary).

You'll really have to substantiate that. If consciousnesses doesn't emanate from the brain, where does it?

Are you confused so easily?

You began by denying the existence of mind and then, when pushed for clarification, decided turn to consciousness - a different concept - by telling me this new concept wasn't another, third concept.
("consciousness is not the brain buddy.")

i don't see any confusion.
>denying the existence of mind
saying mind is "nothing" with a picture of sartre is not saying it doesn't exist.
>a different concept
how?
>third concept
you came up with that "concept" and i said "is not".

So, here's what you've taught is:

- the mind doesn't exist

- the brain isn't consciousness

I'm at a loss for words. Truly, a great mind (oops!).
