Of his works, I've only read A Theft, which I really did not like. Have you read that and, if so, can you compare/contrast it with Seize the Day? Despite how much I disliked A Theft, I don't write authors off based on one work, and I've been wondering what to pick up to give him another chance.

Also, to be specific about what my major complaints about A Theft: I found the dialogue often awkward and unrealistic, and I felt like there was a lack of subtlety with his metaphors and symbolism.
