I just finished reading Lolita. It was incredible. Very interesting, complex, beautifully written. Both H. H. and Lo are great caracters, original, and full of personality. The narration is amazing because Humbert Humbert forces the reader to develop a kind of sympathy for him.

I don't know what to think of the ending though... It's always like that when you finish a book; this weird emotion I can't describe. Also (and I don't know what to think about this), I cried a little when Humbert finds Dolly, now 17 and pregnant, and start crying when she refuses to go with him and he then realises he ruined her life. This was a strong part in this powerful book. I'll have to reread it for sure.

I sometimes wonder at this reaction to Lolita (when it's serious). I thought Ada was a lot worse in that sense, sexual relations between 12 and 14 year old siblings. Yet it doesn't seem to get near the attention.
