Do any of you have particular juvenile favorites?

I did enjoy Hatchet but I would be lying if I said I read it more than once. I read Holes over and over again though.

Hatchet for me was one of the first novels that turned me onto reading and English in general.

Never read holes though, I should get on that.

I loved that book as a kid. Same with A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Golden Compass series, and The Phantom Tollbooth.

The Phantom Tolbooth is great literature at any age, but can definitely change a kid's whole worldview

I found this book in used book store when I was younger, and I still read it every now and then. It's about a group of kids with psychic abilities who everybody thinks are just troublemakers(i.e. a kid who can start fires with his mind that everybody thinks is just a retarded pyromaniac, a kid who can see several seconds into the future and interrupts his teachers all the time as a result). The kids all get sent to a reform school, where the protagonist figures out what's going on with each of them and helps them to understand and control their abilities. In the end they use their powers to fight back against the school bully. It's a really fun book.
