Yeah, it's kind of weird that nobody ever talks about it, but Pynchon is kind of a pedophile. Not an exclusive one, but there's certainly an interest. But hey, Salinger, Socrates, de Sade, and Ginsberg to name a few all had a sexual predilection for children -- whether or not each acted upon it is up for debate, and I don't think it detracts from their art (well, Ginsberg maybe), but it is present.

Pynchon wrote a very honest book wherein he wasn't afraid to confront virtually all aspects of sex and death, including the taboo and immoral ones. Personally, I commend him for it.

I guess it helps that I was reading for the prose, as I decided Pynchon was probably insanely high while writing, so I didn't bother to try and figure out what was happening sometimes.
