Leadership usually comes from a combination of having a good sense of strategy and communication skills. You could try starting with one of the simplest yet most important books in pic related. It applies even today and not just to war some like people believe, but in business and other ventures where strategic thinking is necessary.

This is more on a leadership level of a ruler but it still applies.

Thank You For Arguing

Seriously. I used it to take over and then run my uni's student mag a few years back.

It's all about rhetoric and its practical application.

I'm looking for some too OP. Here's one I found recently by chance. It has some great examples and is a pretty easy read. Some of his conclusions are a bit of stretch. Overall it's a good, fun read about a topic I have trouble finding books about. Also Art of War is an easy, quick read and just covers some basics about tactics as others have said.

Fundamentals are one of the most important parts of anything you can learn. There's always something to learn, even if it seems basic and obvious. Art of War was one of the first of it's kind in history and it's iconic because it was useful.

Yes, the book points out obvious things, but when shit is going down in a battlefield, sometimes it helps remembering basic and obvious facts that you overlooked in your panic.

>In theory

Are you good at communicating in ways that make people not hate you?

Are you sensitive to the natural flow of things?

Congratulations, you're cut out for leadership.

>In reality

Are you loudly ignorant?

Are you completely immune to logic and language?

Congratulations, you qualify for leadership in the age of media.

hint: people forget basic things all the time. Even geniuses need to learn the fundamentals.

The Art of War was literally written over 2500 years ago. It's not the end game for strategy.
