If he sticks to his 7 book plan (though I reckon it'll end up being 8, which will fuck up his neat "7 books for 7 gods" scheme), and at the rate of speed he's averaging between installments, we should see book 7 in 2022.

its not literary fiction, its genre fiction. It probably is heavily influential to the fantasy genre but I wouldn't say all fantasy books will be directly changed by it.

It depends on how the words are used. Take for example the infamous Marquis De Sade. Even the narration of the most heinous acts come from his pen as sublime lines.

"Sublime" indeed.

That being said, I doubt Grrm could handle writing on disposable paper, his fantastic prose would break down.

If you posted a Rochester poem and attributed it to Martin a bunch of e/lit/ists would probably write it off too. Martin's writing simply carries too much sociocultural baggage to be judged with a clear head on this board.

As someone who has tried to write, not merely about the vagina but about menstruation, I think the highest/best you're going to get is 'slit.' It leaves a lot to the imagination, which is always useful for elevated/poetic language, and it makes it sound like a wound, which works fairly well because it bleeds every month.
