ITT: Post your favourite book and favourite album.
I'm from /mu/ so I'm not sure how this book is received here but my favourite book is The Stranger by Albert Camus and my favourite album is either 'Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven' by Godspeed You! Black Emperor or 'Pomegranates' by Nicolas Jaar. Curious to see if there are any correlations.

In general, people here like the Stranger, although we admit that it's not the most sophisticated compared to other, more major, novels. It's pretty entry-tier, and some might say even plebby.

I don't know how they do it on /mu/ but here we encourage people to lurk moar before posting threads. If this isn't bait you should try reading more of the western canon and some outlines of philosophy. Shitposting abounds on this board. Please be the difference you, or in this case I, want to see in /lit/

As for me, my current favorite nook is "2666" by Roberto Bolaño, and my favorite album is "walk Among Us" by the Misfits.

Try Slint, Bark Psychosis, Gastr del Sol and Tortoise.

The Stranger is one of my favorite novels, but since /lit/ is all about autistically rating novels on arbitrary scales and since they consider it a piece of philosophy it is usually thought to be "plebeian". If you're new just completely discard this dichtomy and try not to have your mind poisoned. Try seeing literature and music for what they are.

My favorites are Can's Future Days and Calvino's If on a Winter's Night a Traveller.

Yeah, it's not a piece of philosophy. That would be giving it more credit than it deserves. It's baby's first existential romp.

Ecactly. Camus was pretty upset, since he actually had no intentions of The Stranger being a philosophical piece, it's just a story. He was not pleased with its reception and people overanalizing or overinterpreting it.

>That would be giving it more credit than it deserves. It's baby's first existential romp.

Buzzwords & memes galore.

My favorite fiction is Ulysses, and my favorite non-fiction is probably the Philosophical Investigations.

My favorite album is probably White Light/White Heat. I view it as the logical conclusion of rock music, and probably once every month or two I need to get naked and start singing along to it. "Sister Ray" is transcendence itself.
