Luther was legit. Other reformists were legit as well. The best religious guys are the ones that realize all the shit within their religious system, criticize it, try to change it, bring it back to what matters. What Luther did is in shit today as well, it's an endless cycle, but I'd always be with these guys rather than on the side of the corrupt imbeciles.

Luther never asserted that. Sola scriptura means you can't tack on additions to scripture things that you say are required for SALVATION. It doesn't mean you can't have traditions outside of scripture, and it certainly doesn't mean that you should just intrepret it for yourself. Lutheranism is built, after all, on Luther's interpenetration of scripture, and Lutheranism has priests and bishops.

People who shoot up abortion clinics are not offshoots of Luther's theology, they come from Calvinism or the other English Dissenters

No they aren't, because they practice rebaptism, when the Nicene Creed explicitly affirms *one* baptism. Anabaptism is silly, can you imagine Christ getting "rebaptized"?

>> No.6461019

>the Nicene Creed
There's your problem.

>can you imagine Christ getting "rebaptized"?
Yes, since baptism was a common Jewish practice that an adult person would perform many times. It's quite imaginable that Jesus would have been baptized at least once in his life prior to his baptism by John the Baptist, no doubt after reaching adulthood. Anyway, you're mistaken: Baptists practice believer's baptism, which may or may not be a second baptism. It is because baptism is a cleansing of sin and a renewal of devotion that persons choose to be baptized again, which is reflective of the Jesus seeking baptism before beginning his mission as Christ.

I don't, but the Christ is said to have made some clear statements about the practice of those that follow him.

>Seems like you're conflating ritual ablution with Christian baptism.
How can one conflate that which was not divided, except by the tribalistic behavior of Man? The arrogance of "Christians" is that they take the actual works of the Christ and they say it's not "Christian" enough for /them/.
