So I've been working on a Cthulhu Mythos novel told in frame narrative, let me pitch it to you guys. Set in the modern world, an organization known as the Zodiac, has pledged their lives to fighting against extraterrestrial horrors (Great Old Ones, Malevolent Alien Races, etc.) Each story line is told by a different protagonist and will usually conclude in a fight against a powerful deity. These story lines may overlap at times and reference each other. Thoughts?

I definitely feel you guys, the main reason I'm sketched out about doing something like this is because it wouldn't really stick to Lovecraft's super negative idealism. But I promise the plot lines won't be as dramatic as the whole body suit woman thing. haha

The idea can work if said fights against powerful deities end with the deity being successfully repressed at a terrible cost, while hinting that most probably the horrors will end up winning eventually.
Also, read the short story A Colder War and the Delta Green sourcebooks.

This is more along the lines of what I was thinking, but since this is just the framework for the first book, I don't really have much else planned as far as how everything will conclude. In one of the story lines I have planned out, a Great Old One is stopped by summoning an Elder God, who possesses the protagonist, and the Old One is eventually stopped, although the protagonist loses her life.

Have one scene where the protagonist is fighting Cthulhu and chomping a cigar and Cthulhu grabs him and the protag like spits in his eye forcing Cthulhu to drop him giving him time to plant the explosive charge sending Cthulhu's city back to the deep and saving the world.
