Hi /lit/

This may be a slightly different thread from the usual's but I need some advice on my situation.

>Have BA in English
>Only did it because I suck in math and love /lit/
>Have over a little $10,000 in savings from restaurant job that I quit last year
>Leeched off parents for about a year
>Need to start looking for a job

What do? All I want to do is read and write /lit/ but parents want me out the house. So far I have settled on two options. Enlisting in the navy or going into teaching, probably middle or high school, hopefully building my way up to college.

Other opinions are also welcome

forgive me, but given what you've shared of yourself, i dont see you as the military type. you would likely be better off going the teaching route.

OP here. I listed military because most of my family members are ex-navy and some of them are advising me to join. Also (I'm not trying to brag) a lot of my friends said they can see me in the military because I'm somewhat fit. I go to the gym 3 times a week

fair enough. from what little i know of the military, though, is you're not going to have a lot of free time for reading. you're either going to be busy or too tired.

lol, Navy is the easiest branch of the military to succeed in. Most of your time is spent learning about military-centric trades (navigating, operating machinery, computer systems maintenance, etc.), for a minimum of 1 year, for which you get substantial pay and boosts to your SS, pension, healthcare plan, &c.

Navy is anything but a bad decision, especially if your other option is teaching.

I was thinking Navy. My only concerns were boot camp (heard it goes by quick) and staying on a ship from time to time.

Another concern of mine. My sis said that during they're free time the only thing they cared about was food and sleep

Tutor English

Get a certificate in ESL and/or your teaching credentials. Both should cost about 1k each.

Learn Algebra 1 and maybe 2. Should take a week at most for Algebra 1. Now you can tutor math up to 8th grade.

All of this should make becoming a teacher easier.
Congrats brah.

you have 10k in savings?

you can probably afford to do some soul searching for a little while, especially if you continue to leech off your parents

Definitely join the Navy. Where else can you die for Israel and kill brown people whose only crime is not wanting to be ruled over by the Judeo-Satanic central banking system?

what's with all the neets having 10k saved up?

i'm considering donating all my neetbucks to an art museum. they award 'memberships' based on this type of thing and if i donate more than 10k i would have free rent and can use the facility (i'm hoping, but i'll check first) however i want.

will write about my adventures if it all works out.

Go into a tech job. They need writers for several reasons.

Get there by temping into one. When you apply at the temp agency, state you want work in tech companies. Take advantage of opportunities that arise. (That's what this BA in Lit did.)

Good luck!
