There's nothing to get. Kafka is an overrated mediocre author.

Try to get some shit done through the state bureaucracy. For example taking out a license or a permit or something. With all the paperwork. Then you will get it.

Just finished it a coupe of days ago, was bretty gud. I don't think there's much to get, the weird oppressive atmosphere and unsettling, vague sense of doom that pervades the whole novel is good enough.

Also it was funny how every woman in the book keeps throwing herself at K. Kafka must have been a bitter beta in real life.

>I don't get it.

I read some Sartre and his notion of 'bad faith' which helped me form my own ideas about The Trial. I thought the overall feeling was that of the individual's struggle against their external reality.

Is this your first time reading kafka? If so you might want to start with his short stories, they tend to give you a better idea of what Kafka is up to.

>>6349999
it's not that you're 'not supposed to get it' it's that your supposed to feel the anguish of 'the process' and frustrate over trying to extract something meaningful from a text that only hints to some greater truth but bars your entrance to that knowledge. (literally the law parable the priest tells).

>>6352159
Kafka actually had a reputation for being a womanizer.

I feel like this book can't have merit after it was pieced together from a bunch of out of order manuscripts and then translated to english. not to mention theirs nothing special about the writing style and the story is just a god awful bore.

This novel i am writing is going to be Kafkaesque with a vintage steam-punk twist!

The other day i went into the bank and they told me i couldn't get my money out without a card or ID, it was very Kafkaesque.

I loved the latest episode of mad men when he visits cali, it was totally dreamlike, very Kafkaesque.

This. But an uncanny funny, kindof like a bantering with a friend about sleeping with their mom and then doing it, causing his parents to divorce. She is now pregnant with your child who is born with severe deformities and you and your once-pal are now completely estranged.
