Do you guys ever take extended breaks from reading?

I've been reading about 2-3 hours a day intensively, mostly philosophy, poetry, and the occasional novel for about the past 7 or 8 months without much lull in my pace and engagement. I think it may be catching up to me.

Considering just taking a week or so break from heavy lifting reading and catching up on music and tv shows and reading some genre fiction short stories (horror, science fiction) in a bid to stave off the burn.

yeah it happens to me about once a year and lasts for maybe a month, sometimes more
following my first semester of college i stopped reading for about six months

Not for the past decade. I didn't read much besides comics when I was a teenager, if that counts.

I don't have any problem mixing "light" reading and regular non-fiction in with other reading I do. So I never feel like I need a break.

if only id spent that time reading books

I've posted this before on /mu and /tv, but I cycle between books, music and shows/movies throughout the year. I spent about 3-4 months on one subject, reading, watching or listening to as much as I can, then I switch off to the next.

Recently though, I've hit on a steady balance of reading for 2-3 hours in the morning, listening to music throughout the day and watching a movie or a few episodes of a tv show in the evening. I feel, normal.

Definately do not watch Innocence (2004). What kind of stuff do you enjoy?

I really like Korine's stuff. Julien-Donkey Boy is great. I can't find Mr. Lonely online and haven't seen Trash Humpers yet.
