Yep. There's a big movement to bring Churches that are fairly compatible/split for more historical than theological reasons. Anglicans, Oriental Orthodox, and even Eastern Orthodox are reconciling differences with Rome at the center.

And I wonder if that's not going to ultimately fulfill the Prophecy of the Popes. The next pope isn't going to be the last pope because the Catholic Church ends, he's going to be the last pope because Catholicism and Orthodoxy will reunite and the papacy as we know it will no longer exist. The pope will become another patriarch.

What? Its still annulments. The Church doesn't recognize divorce.

Most things besides filioque and papal authority are marginal, and even then there's room for reconciliation. Eastern Catholics have existed for awhile. Political support has been a church staple forever, from varying degrees. Not really a problem for rome, considering they're not crusaders for democracy. Human rights would be a thing, though.

Catholicism is a symphony, not a song.
