Not a novel, but I'll be damned if philosophy can't help.
If you really can't take it, just watch some of these before going. it's not like you'd lose anything anyway.

>is that American Psycho

top lol those two hate each other. Infinite Jest is so much more impressive than anything BEE written, no literature is 'better' than any other though, i guess, but Less Than Zero will be remembered far longer than AP, if we're talking writing style alone and not social impact and content

Exercise, less masturbation, time outside. This is what you need most. I'd recommend Yukio Mishima to encourage this but considering your suicide thing you might want to stay away from him. Go outside though, it's good for you.

As for books, A Confederacy of Dunces might cheer you up since it's funny and The Stars My Destination is loads of fun, easy to read and has a great message.

And if you're into anime (why would you be here if you aren't?) consider watching Eva.

Whatever you're feeling, plenty of other people have been through it before, and one of them is bound to have written down something that'll help you.

ARTAMÈNE, in the original language. You're not allowed to kill yourself until you learn every word in the book and read it completely. I expect a 40 page report on how the themes of the novel predict the anxieties explored by Joyce in his Dublin series (esp. Ulysses, which you also must read in full).

Seriously, don't kill yourself, my man.

This. Opening thesis: Only relevant question in philosophy is "Why not suicide"

if you really have thoughts of suicide and feel uncomfortable about it (but can't manage to find a way to think about something else in times):

everyone saying therapy is right. But good books might help you make the most out of therapy, in fact your therapist may know those existentialist books as well.
It makes it very easy to connect and share thoughts on complex matters of your inner state of mind, thus propelling the healingprocess.

turned out to work for me btw
