Hi /lit/, first time posting here, could I get some suggestions for good sci-fi books? I don't read as much as I'd like to but I think it's mainly because I find it hard to get invested in something that I'm not interested in, and most suggestions I get are shit as my friends are total plebs, so anything you could offer up from your reservoirs of fine taste would be kwl.

Philip K. Dick and Isaac Asimov both have large collections of short stories. PKD wrote Minority Report, which is a short work and We Can Remember It For You Wholesale (which Total Recall is based off of). He has quite a few other stories which are the basis of big Hollywood movies too.

people should stop recommending this as SF

even if you want to argue about how it technically is SF and not fantasy, it's never actually what people asking for SF recs are after

Really? Enlighten me, Sherlock, what _are_ people asking for SF recs 'actually' after?
